Das Huawei Mate 8 ist offiziell und irgendwie doch nicht!

Huawei-Mate-8Der chinesische Hersteller Huawei hat soeben in Shanghai das Huawei Mate 8 und damit den offiziellen Nachfolger des Erfolgs-Smartphone des Huawei Ascend Mate 7 präsentiert. Während man ein wenig über das Aussehen bekannt gegeben hat, möchte man aber die endgültigen Spezifikationen erst auf der CES 2016 in Las Vegas veröffentlichen. Dennoch bestätigen die Bilder ein echtes Android 6.0 Marshmallow Flaggschiff Smartphone.

Huawei Mate 8 offiziell

Wie schon so häufig in der Vergangenheit bestätigen sich die bereits veröffentlichten Bilder des Huawei Mate 8 in seiner ganzen Vollendung, was unter dem Strich durchweg gute Nachrichten sind. Denn in der Tat besteht das 6 Zoll große (1080p) Android Smartphone auf der Vorderseite zu 83 Prozent aus einem 2.5D Display, welches sich dadurch auszeichnet das es leicht gewölbt an den Seiten nahtlos in den Rahmen übergeht. Von einer Force Touch Display ist bis dato nicht die Rede. Stimmen am Ende die Gerüchte das Apple, Synaptics aufgekauft hat und Huawei nun ohne die entsprechende Technologie da steht?

Wie schon bei den vorherigen Modellen, verfolgt der chinesische Hersteller auch bei dem Huawei Mate 8 das Konzept des Aluminium Unibodygehäuse unter dem ein HiSilicon Kirin 950 Prozessor für den Antrieb sorgt.
Die im TSMC 16nm FinFET Verfahren gefertigte CPU besteht aus 4 x A72 Kernen mit 2,3 GHz Taktfrequenz und 4 x A53 Kernen mit maximal 1,8 GHz. Interessanter Weise nennt Huawei den Coprozessor i5, was hoffentlich nicht zu irgendwelchen Streitigkeiten vor Gericht mit Intel zufolge hat.

Das Huawei Mate 8 kommt in der Tat mit einem runden Fingerabdrucksensor auf der Rückseite auf den Markt und ist wie bei dem Huawei Mate S (zum Test) ebenfalls in der identischen Farbe des Gehäuses lackiert. Zur Auswahl stehen Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray und Mocha Brown, welche laut Huawei ab dem ersten Quartal 2016 zu einem noch nicht genannten Preis in den Handel kommen sollen.

Huawei Consumer Business Group Launches Huawei Mate 8 Smartphone in China, Featuring New Kirin 950 Chipset

Shanghai, China – November 26, 2015 – Today in Shanghai, the Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) unveiled the Huawei Mate 8, its most advanced flagship smartphone that combines beauty and practicality with a metallic, seamless design, 6-inch FHD screen and Huawei’s latest chipset architecture, the Kirin 950. As the latest innovation from Huawei’s Mate series, the Mate 8 features a customizable, next-generation Huawei EMUI 4.0 operating system based on Android M (6.0). Its body is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and unique 2.5D curved diamond cut glass, delivering an optimal design effect.

Huawei Mate 8 will be unveiled at CES 2016, and will be available in the market starting from Q1 2016.

Additional specifications and features include:

  • Refined Look and Feel – In addition to its smooth, curved interior, the Mate 8 also includes an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio, slimmer dimensions and wider color range display, which covers 95 percent of NTSC gamut. Users will be able to further personalize their experience with the choice of four colors: Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray and Mocha Brown.
  • High-performance, Low-power Consumption – The Mate 8 is the first smartphone to run on Huawei’s recently announced Kirin 950 chipset and use TSMC 16 nm FinFET plus chip technology. The leading-edge architecture features redefined properties that achieve balanced power consumption with 4 x A72 2.3 GHz processors and 4 x A53 1.8 GHz processors.
  • Revolutionary i5 Intelligent Processor – The Mate 8’s i5 intelligent processor is the most powerful coprocessor currently available. It supports speech recognition, low-power consumption MP3, all the functions of a sensor hub, fused location provider (FLP) navigation, and reduces location-based power consumption.
  • New Intelligent Features – Some of the Mate 8’s most notable features include voice controls, a power-saving firewall, a defragmenter and eRecovery. The smartphone also offers improved roaming, navigation and payment capabilities.

The Mate 8 is currently available in China.

Weitere Informationen möchte sich das Unternehmen, wie eingangs erwähnt für die erneute Präsentation auf der vom 6. bis 9. Januar 2016 stattfindenden Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas aufheben. Da aber das Unternehmen das Huawei Mate 8 laut Pressemitteilung bereits ab sofort in China verkauft, sollten wir in Kürze zumindest den Preis noch nachreichen können.
